Recently, BAIC FOTON delivered 13 FOTON eVIEW electric vans to a renowned international school in Kathmandu, Nepal. This delivery not only marks another step forward in BAIC FOTON’s commitment to green mobility in the Nepali market, but also brings a fleet of safe and environmentally friendly “new companions” to accompany students on their daily school commute.

As the global electric vehicle industry continues to grow rapidly, Nepal is seeing a steady rise in demand for electric commercial vehicles. The Nepali government has been actively promoting the adoption of EVs as part of its broader efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce air pollution — creating a welcoming market for Chinese automakers. As a key player in China’s commercial vehicle industry, BAIC FOTON has earned wide recognition in Nepal for its high-performance products and localized services, becoming one of the most prominent brands in the country’s electric vehicle import market.
The FOTON eVIEW vans delivered in this batch feature a stylish and dynamic exterior design, giving them a modern and professional look. Each van is equipped with a 53.58 kWh CATL LFP battery, offering a driving range of up to 300 kilometers under the NEDC(New European Driving Cycle)standard — more than sufficient for daily commutes and school transport in urban and suburban Nepal. With a powerful motor output of 130 kW and a peak torque of 330 Nm, the eVIEW also boasts a 25% climbing ability, making it well-suited for Nepal’s diverse and often mountainous terrain. It’s a high-performance, long-range EV van tailored to local needs.
When it comes to student transportation, safety is paramount. The FOTON eVIEW is built with advanced safety features including automatic holding control, intelligent parking assist, and hill-start assist, along with durable R16 tires — all of which provide robust, multi-layered protection for young passengers. Inside, ergonomically designed seats offer comfort for both drivers and students, while a dual-ring instrument cluster clearly displays key driving information. Rear-view cameras and parking sensors further enhance driving safety, meeting the diverse expectations of both students and parents.
This delivery not only underscores BAIC FOTON’s growing brand presence in Nepal, but also reinforces its commitment to supporting the country’s green transportation transition. The addition of these electric vans will give local students a safer and more eco-friendly way to get to school — bringing real benefits to the education sector. As Nepal continues to roll out supportive policies for clean energy, BAIC FOTON plans to introduce more high-quality electric vehicle models to help the country achieve its low-carbon transportation goals.
Looking ahead, BAIC FOTON will deepen its collaboration with local partners and leverage innovative technologies and exceptional service to provide more efficient, sustainable transportation solutions for schools, students, and communities — contributing to public well-being and long-term development.
