EVolveABetterWorld 丨BAIC FOTON Delivers eAUMARK Electric Vehicles to Malaysia

Recently, BAIC FOTON partnered with a major retailer in Malaysia to deliver the eAUMARK all-electric light trucks. As the first retailer in Malaysia to adopt BAIC FOTON’s electric eAUMARK trucks, this collaboration not only highlights the customer’s forward-thinking strategy but also sets a new benchmark for promoting green logistics in Southeast Asia. With efficient and reliable electric solutions, BAIC FOTON is accelerating the transition of local logistics and transportation systems towards a low-carbon, intelligent future.

Understanding Local Needs: Building a Green Supply Chain Together

The customer is a rapidly growing mini-market chain in Malaysia, with nearly a thousand stores nationwide and a vast network of distribution centers and advanced logistics systems. As one of the leaders in the local retail grocery sector, the company is expanding quickly and needed technological upgrades to improve cost efficiency. Previously, BAIC FOTON’s AUMARK series had already earned the customer’s trust with outstanding performance and service. This electrification upgrade further deepens the strategic partnership.

Empowering with Cutting-Edge Technology: Defining New Standards of Quality

As a testament to BAIC FOTON’s craftsmanship, the eAUMARK light truck boasts enhanced anti-corrosion performance — improved by 50% through fully automated welding and polyurea spraying technology. After over 3 million kilometers of rigorous road testing and 12,000 hours of key component bench testing, the truck’s reliability has been significantly enhanced. The vehicle features fast-charging technology, enabling a 1-hour quick charge, with an energy consumption of only 32 kWh per 100 kilometers. Combined with the intelligent energy management system, it dramatically reduces operating costs over the vehicle’s lifecycle.

In terms of safety, the eAUMARK is equipped with BAIC FOTON’s new i-ADAS intelligent management system, enhancing both active and passive safety features to meet the highest European ECE-R29 collision standards. It also offers a more comfortable driving experience, with next-gen airbag shock-absorbing seats, eco-friendly materials, a new noise-reduction design, and user-friendly features and storage space that upgrade the cabin to a more passenger-friendly level.

Expanding in Southeast Asia: Leading the New Energy Race

As a core market in Southeast Asia, BAIC FOTON is making significant strides in Malaysia’s logistics and transportation sector, forging deep partnerships with major e-commerce and retail companies. Thanks to its high-quality products and service network, BAIC FOTON is becoming a trusted brand in the local logistics industry. In the public transport sector, BAIC FOTON has also delivered a batch of fully electric buses to Malaysia, marking the largest electric bus order ever exported from China to Malaysia, injecting new momentum into the country’s green transportation initiatives.

As one of China’s early movers in the new energy vehicle sector, BAIC FOTON has developed and mastered the core “three electric” technologies (electric, hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cells), enabling multiple technological pathways for electric, hybrid, and hydrogen-powered vehicles. Its full range of commercial vehicles, including electric light trucks, vans, and buses, has been certified with the WVTA EU whole-vehicle type approval. These new energy products are now available in over 45 countries and regions worldwide, including Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and South America.

With the deepening of RCEP regional cooperation, BAIC FOTON will continue to advance its localized operations strategy, leveraging its global R&D system and intelligent manufacturing advantages to offer customized new energy solutions to Southeast Asian customers. This will drive the region’s logistics and transportation systems towards greater efficiency, sustainability, and intelligence.
