Empowering Over 200 People Through Market-Wide Training! BAIC FOTON Sets New Benchmark for Overseas Service Training in Africa

As part of its commitment to full internationalization and its strategic focus on the African market, BAIC FOTON successfully established one regional and six national-level training centers across Africa in 2025, building a robust localized service training network.Building on this foundation, the Overseas Customer Operations and Service Center, in collaboration with key African markets, officially launched its first mobile service skills enhancement training tour in May. As of July 18, the training program has covered over 10 countries—including Ghana, Ethiopia, and Kenya—conducting nearly 10 sessions and empowering more than 200 local dealer staff and frontline technicians.

In 2025, aligning with BAIC FOTON’s global three-tier service training strategy, the African market leveraged its dealer network to establish a continent-wide training system featuring “Regional Level 2 + National Level 3” service training centers.This system, characterized by standardized branding (SI), streamlined processes, customized curricula, and expert-led instruction, has significantly improved training efficiency. It stands as a benchmark for BAIC FOTON’s global service training excellence and marks a major step forward in the localized operation of service capabilities across Africa.

Tailored, Modular Training Programs Designed to Address Specific Dealer Needs Across Markets

This training tour placed strong emphasis on aligning with the specific needs of each regional market. Modular, professional training programs were carefully designed to address the key capability gaps of local dealers and technicians in each country.

First Stop: Focused on West African market needs, the Ghana Regional Training Center hosted hands-on technical training on new models including AUMAN, MILER, and TUNLAND. The sessions covered repair and maintenance skills and brought together 31 participants from six countries: Ghana, Togo, Senegal, Mali, Gambia, and Benin.
Second Stop: The Nigeria Training Center hosted technical training sessions focused on AUMAN trucks, including FOTON CUMMINS engines, Yuchai gas engines, and vehicle electrical systems. Nearly 80 participants took part in the program.

Third Stop: The Ethiopia Training Center offered specialized training on AUMAN HW heavy-duty transmissions and ZF 12-speed AMT transmissions, focusing on advanced repair and maintenance skills.

Fourth Stop: The Kenya Training Center conducted in-depth training on AUMAN trucks, covering FOTON CUMMINS engines, ZF 12-speed AMT transmissions, and vehicle electrical systems. Participants from Uganda and Tanzania joined the sessions alongside local trainees.

Fifth Stop: In the Zambian market, multi-channel training sessions were conducted covering AUMAN trucks equipped with FOTON CUMMINS ISG engines, HW12 and ZF 12-speed AMT transmissions, as well as full-vehicle electrical systems.

Sixth Stop: The South Africa Training Center delivered technical training on passenger vehicles including the TUNLAND V and TM1, as well as AUMAN engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.  

Seventh Stop: The Zimbabwe Training Center offered technical training on AUMAN trucks, focusing on the ISG engine, HW12 transmission, and ZF 12-speed AMT transmission.

Eighth Stop: In the Madagascar market, training sessions were held on FOTON CUMMINS ISG engines for buses, as well as maintenance and repair skills for pure electric bus models.

During this African training tour, the expert team delivered in-depth technical empowerment combined with hands-on service practice, forging a strong connection between dealers and BAIC FOTON. This streamlined an efficient service response chain and injected powerful momentum into the deepening internationalization of the African market.More than just a large-scale skills upgrade, this initiative stands as a compelling proof of BAIC FOTON’s globally standardized, professional, and ecosystem-driven service system successfully taking root and operating efficiently in Africa. It represents a crucial milestone in the implementation of BAIC FOTON’s Africa strategy.
