Consultation, Contribution and Shared Benefits丨African Union Delegation Revisits BAIC FOTON, Ushering in a New Chapter of China-Africa Cooperation

Recently, a delegation from the “Consultation, Contribution and Shared Benefits” training program—comprised of representatives from African Union member states including Kenya, Nigeria, Liberia, Zimbabwe, and The Gambia,etc.—visited BAIC FOTON’s headquarters in Beijing for in-depth exchanges. This marks the second visit to BAIC FOTON by participants of the AU training program following the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Beijing Summit.

As an important platform for AU member states to gain deeper insights into China’s governance, economic policy, poverty alleviation, sustainable development, and the practical implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, this training program focuses on the cutting edge of China’s industrial development. As a key player in the commercial vehicle industry and an active contributor to the Belt and Road Initiative, BAIC FOTON—backed by a strong foundation of innovation and a spirit of open collaboration—has offered the delegation a prime opportunity to observe China’s development approach and technological expertise firsthand.

During the visit, the delegation toured BAIC FOTON’s headquarters to learn about the company’s development journey and brand values. They also visited the FOTON CUMMINS plant and X-Lab, where they observed the R&D process up close and gained deeper insights into BAIC FOTON’s significant achievements in cutting-edge fields such as new energy, intelligent connectivity, and autonomous driving. In addition, the delegates took part in test drives across BAIC FOTON’s full range of commercial vehicles, experiencing firsthand the comprehensive solutions the company offers for a wide variety of practical applications.

At the roundtable discussion, Luo Yunjie, Vice President of BAIC FOTON Overseas, gave a comprehensive overview of the company’s global strategy and robust innovation system. He emphasized that BAIC FOTON remains committed to the principles of openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation, and continues to integrate deeply into the global automotive ecosystem. In particular, BAIC FOTON is dedicated to supporting the modernization of transportation across African nations by offering a competitive product portfolio and comprehensive service solutions. The delegates responded enthusiastically to the visit, expressing strong appreciation for BAIC FOTON’s technological capabilities and market presence. They were particularly impressed by the company’s ongoing innovation, comprehensive product lineup, and well-targeted market strategies. Many expressed a keen interest in deepening practical, multi-dimensional cooperation with BAIC FOTON in the future, with the shared goal of advancing broader and more robust China-Africa economic and trade relations.
