On June 16, the 2025 Union Internationale des Transports Publies Summit opened grandly in Hamburg, Germany. As the world’s premier public transport event with over 120 years of history, UITP brings global attention every two years to a major transportation hub city. This year, BAIC FOTON made a striking appearance with two flagship models: the BJ6129 pure electric bus chassis and the BJ6605 microcirculation electric city bus—showcasing China’s strength in smart manufacturing and its commitment to sustainable mobility.
At the exhibition, the BJ6129 electric bus chassis stood out for its EU-compliant innovative design. Featuring a unique three-door, low-floor configuration, it offers an efficient green solution for both mainline and feeder bus routes in complex urban settings. Equipped with high-capacity lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries from leading global suppliers, it delivers impressive range to meet diverse transit demands. The model integrates an advanced e-drive system and proprietary vehicle control technology for robust safety performance. A smart thermal management system optimizes battery efficiency, significantly boosting energy utilization. Its highly integrated chassis design incorporates core functions—braking, steering, charging, insulation monitoring, and high-voltage distribution—into a compact platform with outstanding scalability, paving the way for flexible development across 12-meter models.
Sharing the spotlight was the BJ6605 microcirculation electric city bus—a benchmark solution for urban feeder transit in China. Built on a foundation of safety and reliability, it uses a top-tier domestic permanent magnet synchronous motor and an advanced in-house control system. Compatible with various LFP battery configurations, it easily meets long-range demands across different operating scenarios. Innovative lightweight body design reduces vehicle weight by more than 5%, significantly enhancing energy savings. Its modern, stylish appearance is matched by a spacious interior, ergonomically designed driver’s area, and dual large-door, low-floor layout—reshaping the urban transport landscape while improving passenger comfort and accessibility.
BAIC FOTON’s showcase of these two standout models in Germany highlights the company’s deep integration into the global movement toward green mobility.
